Dr Aruna Mene

I am a “green” fabric artist, creating things of beauty from fabric waste and recycled textiles, which would otherwise have ended up in ever expanding landfill sites, creating more pollution and environmental disaster!

My forte is making vibrant, uplifting fabric collages on canvas, which give a sense of ‘ Joy de vivre’ .I am inspired by the natural world, travel, humanity and my medical profession!

I also enjoy creating beautiful rag rugs, rope baskets, ‘wearable’ art and many more desirable things from recycled textiles, as I am very passionate about doing my part in reducing waste .

Images from my work have adorned international calendars, magazines and journals .

I fundraise for various international charities through my art and craft, as all profits from sales go into these charities.

I have conducted workshops about rag rugs and have created large fabric collages with school children in a deprived area in Bolton.I am a public speaker and enjoy talking about my unique art.
I am a retired Hospital Consultant and live life to the full with my husband and children’s families!
